Our History

PT Adaro Minerals Indonesia Tbk (“AMI”) was established as PT Jasapower Indonesia in 2007. It is a subsidiary of PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (“AEI”), a well-known Indonesian mining and energy group with extensive end-to-end supply chain.

AMI is intended to be the center of Adaro Group’s non-coal mineral assets and mineral processing businesses, and metallurgical coal businesses. Through its subsidiaries, AMI holds five Coal Contract of Work (CCoW) concession areas with large metallurgical coal resources and reserves in East Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan. Its metallurgical coal product is branded as "Enviromet", which has been warmly welcomed and known by most steel producers in the global market.

AMI has also ventured into mineral processing operations as part of Adaro Group’s transformation into green business. Through its subsidiary PT Kalimantan Aluminium Industry (KAI), AMI has started construction of an aluminum smelter in the world's largest green industrial area located in North Kalimantan. At its initial stage, this project is expected to produce aluminum ingot of around 500 thousand tons of aluminum ingots per year, with plans to expand to 1.5 million tons per year at full capacity. The mineral processing segment is part of AMI’s initiative to both contribute to and capture the opportunities from Indonesia’s green economy being massively developed by the government.
